Fundraising Campaign for Victims of Flood in Parwan (Afghanistan)

On 26th August 2020, Charikar in Parwan province (Afghanistan) was struck by flood, killing tens of people and destroying hundreds of houses. The catastrophic flood coincided the lockdown period in Melbourne caused by COVID-19. In response to this natural disaster and in light of the circumstances in Melbourne, World Baba Mazari Charity started an online fundraising campaign during which a total amount of 16,015.00 AUD (sixteen thousand and fifteen dollars) was raised.

The fund, 856,222.00 AFN (eight hundred and fifty-six thousand and two hundred and twenty-two Afghani), was transferred to Afghanistan and paid to purchase 280 (two hundred and eighty) packages that included: one blanket, one ten-kilogram rice bag, one five-liter cooking oil bottle, and one spaghetti box.

A total number of 285 (two hundred and eighty-five) families who were affected by the flood received these packages. 275 (two hundred and seventy-five) families received a full package and ten families received a partial of the package. Also, a total amount of 26000.00 AFN (twenty-six thousand Afghani) was donated to an individual who lost his car during the flood.
