Our commitment to the following operating principles helps us ensure that our contributions are in line with our values.
- 1. Transparency
Transparency builds trust and instills faith among team members, partners, donors, and beneficiaries. Operating transparently enables an organization to set its goals easier and more realistically. Observing transparency in every domain, helps a team evaluate themselves with more clarity and scrutiny and facilitates creating an open atmosphere where productivity and innovation are encouraged.
- 2. Partnership
Building an effective partnership can expand our resources, skillsets, and offerings and helps use our resources more efficiently. Considering our own and our partners’ strengths and weaknesses diligently will enable us to reinforce our complementary role. Partners with a track record of collaboration who are accountable for results, have open and honest communication, and can think long term add significant value to the teamwork. Recognizing and valuing the role our partners play in fulfilling our mission is the key to maintain and enhance our partnership.
- 3. Risk Taking
Taking risk is not equal to doing things haphazardly nor is it jumping on every opportunity, it is about thinking long term and taking the right ones. While some risks certainly do not pay off, it is important to remember that some do. Doing a thorough calculation of involved risks allows us to know more and fear less. Examining all options, adopting mitigation measures, running pilot tests, and seeking constructive feedback before a full-scale investment can maximize the odds of a positive outcome.
- 4. Reflection
‘Reflecting in action’, in the midst of process without interrupting it, and ‘reflecting on action’ when the process is complete are both critically important in identifying strengths and weaknesses and in realizing how to proceed and build the next stage of development. It is only by constant monitoring and evaluation that we can hone our reflective skills and effectively appraise what we have learned via practice. Reflection can not happen without critically analyzing our practices and openly discuss them. Not only is it crucial to our team in WBMC to foster it by creating a safe environment for it but also we are committed to encourage and facilitate it for our partners.
- 5. Recognition
Recognizing the hard work and accomplishment of the people we work with improves their productivity, enhance loyalty, and foster collaboration. Recognition helps cultivating a culture of self-improvement among our beneficiaries. We can promote positive reinforcement by celebrating our colleagues and supporters’ achievements and contributions, it boosts their morale and gives them a reason to take ownership of what they do.
